Carroll (Trench) Sampier, age 91 of Hollis, Oklahoma, passed away Friday, July 28, 2017 at Colonial Manor II Nursing Home in Hollis.
Carroll was born in Vinson, Oklahoma on February 12, 1926 to her parents Everett Albert Trench and Dora Ethel (Spurling) Trench. She grew up and spent most of her life in Harmon County Oklahoma and married the love of her life, Hubert Sampier on March 25, 1944 and they were married over 34 years before Hubert’s death in 1978. She worked at the sheet factory in Memphis, Texas and baby sat but her most important job was taking care of her family. Carroll was a long-time member of the First Baptist Church attending both in Mangum and in Hollis for many years. She enjoyed sewing and embroidery, cooking, her jewelry and butterflies, and the color green.
Preceded in death by her parents; her husband; one son, Anthony “Tony” Sampier; one daughter, Lynda Kaye Withers; three sisters, Velda Rae; Billie Margaret; and Jackie Jeanette; and one grandson, Daniel Withers; Carroll is survived by her grandchildren, Michael Withers of Fort Worth; Misty Withers of Northlake, Texas; and Mackey Sampier of Oklahoma; great grandchildren, Annie Withers; Nathan Withers and wife Candace; Andrew Withers; Taylor Thomas and husband Nathan; Jordan Pendergraft and husband Dallas; Austin Sampier; and Mason Sampier; great-great grandchildren, Braxton, Isaiah, and baby P on the way; as well as nieces and nephews, other family members and friends.
Funeral services will be at 2:00 pm, Tuesday, August 1, 2017 at the Harmon County Funeral Home Chapel in Hollis.
Private interment services will follow at Fairmount Cemetery in Hollis under the direction of Harmon County Funeral Home, Hollis, Oklahoma.
